I can’t believe 2011 is over! What what a year it was! In March, I found out we were pregnant. In the Summer, I finally finished college (took me a million years) and by fall, I gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy!

He likes his stroller!

Meet Lucas Uriel – born on November 2, 2011. He weighed a hefty 9 lbs, 11oz, no wonder I was in so much pain at the end! I love this kid. We love this kid.

Our Little Family
(ignore the creepy TV in the back)

He’s my new favorite knitting model too.

I have so much to look forward in 2012 – obviously most of it involving Mr. Lucas and our new little family. Happy new year!

First handspun on a spinning wheel!
.
I’ve dabbled in spinning before, but I finally took a yarn spinning class at The Urban Craft Center and I’m so glad I did. I now know how to use a spinning wheel and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some spinning wheels to drool over.

Here’s a challenge I can get behind! And what better to get me out of my blogging rut that a month long challenge with no rules?
.
My caretaker.
.
My furry little caretaker. Wherever I go, she is there. I think she’s starting to pick-up on my pregnancy hormones and my uh, lack of mobility once I get home.

I’ve been a bad blogger (and knitter) because I’ve been busy finishing up my last college quarter EVER!  I’m beyond happy about this because now I can focus on the fun things in life, like knitting, free evenings in which I DON’T have to be in a classroom, and most of all that little baby that is growing in my belly!
.
Wait, what????!!?!  Yep, we’re due in November and super excited!  Here is the first thing I bought for the kid:
.
RAD CAT!
.
A kitteh from RadCat! I can’t wait to throw it in the baby’s crib. So today, I will finish up my last college paper ever and than try to comprehend my new freedom from academia! Happy Sunday everyone!

Last weekend, to celebrate the end of Louis’ unemployment (he was laid off over a year ago!) and to take advantage of Superbowl weekend, we went to the happiest place on earth, Disneyland!
.
Teacups
.
We expected it to be a little emptier, what with the big game going on, but the place remained as busy as any other day! We didn’t mind, we were just so happy to be there. I think the teacups were my favorite. Not just because it’s such a beautiful and fun ride, but also because Louis put aside his dislike of fast spinning rides for me. Super sweet if you ask me.

We had a blast, I hope to go back again soon!
